Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 October 2026
Karacho is a speedometer. It shows how fast you are moving and has no account, no login and no server of mine behind it. It contains no analytics and no crash reporting.
This policy explains what the app reads on your iPhone, and what leaves it.
Location
Karacho reads your location through Apple's location services to learn one thing: your speed. From each location update it takes the speed, how accurate that speed and the position are, and the time. It never reads the coordinates, so it does not know where you are, and it stores no route and no history.
Your speed is worked out and shown on your iPhone. It is not sent to me or to anyone else.
Karacho asks for location access "While Using the App" and never for "Always". It reads location while it is not in front in two cases only:
- while your speed is showing on the Lock Screen or in the Dynamic Island, a Pro feature you start and stop yourself;
- for at most ten seconds when you ask Siri for your speed, also a Pro feature.
Without location access Karacho cannot show a speed. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Motion & Fitness
To show whether you are walking, cycling or in a vehicle, Karacho reads the motion activity your iPhone determines. That information is used on the device to light a symbol and for nothing else. It is not stored and not sent anywhere. The access is optional: without it Karacho shows your speed without the symbols. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Siri
When you ask Siri for your speed, Apple handles the spoken request under Apple's privacy policy. Karacho only hands Siri the sentence with the number and a small card showing it.
Settings
Your choice of unit and dial is stored on your iPhone and stays there. Deleting the app removes it.
Pro, tips and in-app purchases
Pro and the optional tips in Settings are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. I receive no payment details and no personal information about you, only anonymous sales totals from Apple. To know whether Pro is unlocked, Karacho asks the App Store on your device.
No tracking
- no analytics, no usage statistics
- no crash reporting
- no advertising identifier and no request for permission to track
- no accounts, no email sign-up
- no third-party service that receives data from the app

Contacting me
If you write to karacho@peterkurzok.de, your message and the data it contains are stored so that I can answer it.
